Culinary India पाक

No other cuisine in the world is as flavorful and diverse as that of Indian cuisine. Ranging from spicy to savory to sweet and every point in between, India’s cuisines are influenced by its diverse topographies and cultures alike. Join us on an unprecedented tour of the country’s most significant cultural centers and enjoy the local tastes of this varied landscape.

Delhi

Not only is New Delhi the capital city of India, it is also home to India’s most famous dish, Tandoori Chicken. We will enjoy this capital dish in the capital city at its capital restaurant Pindi in the Pandara Road Market.

Jaipur

The royal state of Rajasthan is home to the city of Jaipur. One of the most popular tourist destinations in India, Jaipur is also home to one of the most popular dishes of the country, Dal Bati Churma. To enjoy this vegetarian lentil dish, we will travel no further than a block past the train station to Santosh Bhojnalaya, rated the best dal in the state.

Amritsar

There are few Indian culinary centers more prominent than the state of Punjab. Amritsar is the city in the state of Punjab famously known for the Golden Temple. Aside from the Golden Temple, Amritsar is also famous for its fried fish dish known as Machhi. To sample its unique flavor, we will dine at its namesake, the local Machhi Mandi Market located near the entrance to the city’s most famous landmark, the Golden Temple.

Lucknow

Located in the north of India, the city of Lucknow was once ruled by the infamous Nawabs. Leaving behind their rich traditions, their cuisine is no exception. We will sample the rich, creamy Mutton Korma at Chowk, located in the Idrish Hotel.

Kolkata

The capital city when under British rule, Kolkata has a vibrant tourist scene. With streets lined with markets and activity, there will be no trouble finding a stand with Puchkas as sweet as this city itself. We recommend the New Market which is lined with Puchka stalls.

Hyderabad

Melding Mughali, Turkish, and Andhra cultures, Hyderabad is home to the country’s best Dum Biryani. We will explore this city and enjoy the best biryani in the country at the famed Bawarchi next to the Astoria Hotel.

Pondicherry

One of the last remaining French settlements in India, Pondicherry is home to the best French-Indian fusion, arguably, in the world! Just blocks from the ocean, we will dine at the most famous restaurant in the city, La Maison Rose. Anything on the menu will surely not disappoint!

Udupi

A strictly-vegetarian city in the south of India, Udupi is home to one of India’s most famous tomato soups, Rasam. We will travel to the area’s most famous vegetarian restaurant, Udupi Park, to feast on what the South Indian Earth has to offer.

Goa

India’s most famous beach town of Goa is famous for none other than, you guessed it…seafood! We will dine in an old colonial restaurant named Suwadik for a seafood feast. We highly recommend the crab, but nothing here will disappoint!

Mumbai

To wrap up our tour of culinary India, we travel to the old city of Bombay, modern-day Mumbai. The most populous city in the country, Mumbai is also home to the most variety of street foods in the country. We will guide you to the best street food vendor Pav Bhaji at Sardar’s Market, but after this, our journey together ends. Enjoy the remainder of your stay here in Mumbai, as the streets are busy all through the night. In fact, most vendors experience their busiest times after 3am.
